Steel with a natural finish
600 × 150 × 60 cm
As if lightning had struck a block of steel and torn it apart like a mirror image, so that the eye can bring the two stelae together again to form a unity. This is how the large sculpture appears to us, incorporating the surrounding space and landscape. We recognise the outer form, but we also recognise the crack through which we perceive the landscape anew in a special form. The sculpture was cut from a block. From a distance it looks like a drawing in space. Seen up close, we feel the density and differentiation of the surfaces. The surfaces have been worked with a blowtorch and contrast with the smooth outer edges. Here is the artist's signature recognisable in the treatment of the steel.
