The steel body is turned in the middle and altered and it appears as if formed from two different shapes. The materiality of the steel is emphasised and can contribute its own forces through the processing. The material was heated, cut, pressed, twisted, and stretched. The design and statics of the work seemingly contradict all rules and teach us to see in a new way. Together with sculpture 7 (Vertical Development 450), it forms a gateway to the Post Tower or, conversely, to the Rhine. These two almost seem like a pair of guards and function as signposts.
